About Jan
Jan has a lifetime of experience leading her to this career. A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Jan has grown up speaking in different venues since she entered her first poetry reading contest in elementary school. After graduating from the University of Alabama and developing her craft and expertise, Jan is now speaking and training on national platforms.
Jan’s passion for developing others stems from her zest for life and the relationships that play a pivotal role in her own development. She knows that “people need people” and her life is exemplary of this fact. Relationships drive cultures, which drive results, which is why her passion to engage people in everything they do from work, to home to community propels her focus to make the largest contribution she can for the time she is given.
You see, Jan knows just how much of a gift time actually is…her time was nearly cut short a few years ago when she was faced with the news that she needed an organ transplant. By the grace of God, the amazing skills of her healthcare teams, and the love and support of family and friends, Jan received a double-organ transplant and wants to leave a path of positivity along her life’s journey.
The powerful message of hope that Jan offers transcends to every area of life, including, if not especially, at work. With over a decade of experience, Jan has served many industries to develop employees at all levels; this includes Higher Education, Healthcare, Legal, and Public Service, to name a few. Her fresh outlook plays an integral part in her training seminars and participants are glad they came.
